Forces Warrant Officer Candidate School, the Special Forces
Warrant Officer Basic Course, and the Warrant Officer
Technical and Tactical Certification Course

 

DEPLOYMENTS:

Jon had a total of 10 deployments; 7 combat deployment and 3 operational.

Twice he supported Operation Iraqi Freedom, October 2007, January 2009; once in support of Operation New Dawn August

2010; twice in Operation in Enduring Freedom January 2012, January 2014; twice in Operation Inherent Resolve November 2017, November 2018 until his passing in January 2019.

decorations include the Bronze Star Medal with two Oak Leaf
Clusters, Purple Heart, Army Commendation Medal with “C”
Device, Army Commendation Medal with two Oak Leaf
Clusters, Army Achievement Medal, Afghanistan Campaign
Ribbon with one campaign star, Iraqi Campaign Medal with
three campaign stars, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary
Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, NATO medal,

Special Forces Tab, Parachutist Badge, and Combat
Infantryman’s Badge.

 

SURVIVED BY: Farmer is survived by his wife Tabitha and their four children, and his parents.

On January 16, 2019 a suicide bomber attacked a restaurant in Manbij, Syria killing CW2 Jonathan Farmer. Additionally, Navy Chief Petty Officer Shannon M. Kent,  Mr.  Scott A. Wirtz, and Ms. Ghadir Taher were killed in the blast, the deadliest incident for the U.S. military since it began operating on Syrian grounds in 2015.
